About the Role
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Coach or designee, this role focuses on customer service, facility security and maintenance, donor relations, processing donated goods, and maintaining accurate donor records to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure open and honest communication to prevent harm to team members, donors, or customers.
- Uphold Goodwill’s drug-free workplace and core values, maintaining a positive work environment.
- Represent Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, and theft.
- Greet donors promptly (within 10 seconds), assist with unloading donations, provide tax receipts, and maintain accurate daily donation counts.
- Ensure donated items remain the property of Goodwill and are processed appropriately.
- Break down donations into categories and maintain a clean, organized drive-through and work area.
- Transport trash to the compactor/dumpster and operate the compactor as needed.
- Maintain accurate donor tracking, counts, and equipment reporting.
- Adhere to all GGC and personnel policies, including safety and security practices.
- Follow Goodwill’s Guiding Principles, including:
- Providing world-class customer service.
- Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized store.
- Processing all donations within 24 hours.
- Prioritizing hard goods and ensuring proper rotation of inventory.
- Increasing donor value and profitability.
- Participate in activities outside of Goodwill as requested.
- Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Coach or ATL.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, communicate verbally, and perform basic math skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, customers, and donors.
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
Special Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation.
- This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds regularly; assistance required for weights over 40 pounds.
- Able to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and manual dexterity.

- Sales vs. budget (location vs. goal).
- Safety – GGC safety metric score.
- Attendance – works assigned schedule and notifies leadership as needed.
- Quality of work (attitude, sense of urgency, productivity, individual safety performance).
- Accuracy of donor counts.
- Image – personal appearance, clean and organized work area, no donor creep.
- Work integrity – follows established procedures and processes donations timely.
- Customer service (10-second rule for internal and external customers, smile, integrity of process, and feedback).
- Reporting – accurately reports equipment on hand and communicates needs.
