Job Summary
Ensures Compliance and Customer Service
This role ensures total operation compliance with state and federal regulations, maintains high customer service standards, and ensures a clean, professional work environment.
Maintain Donor Conditions and Confidentiality
- Maintains donor comfort and safety
- Maintains donor confidentiality
- Maintains complete and accurate record keeping
Operate and Maintain Equipment
- Stocks and maintains supplies
- Maintains equipment based on SOPs
- Monitors and troubleshoots machine alarms/alerts
Collect and Process Plasma
- Register and prepare donors
- Perform donor vitals and fingerstick
- Set-up and disconnect equipment during plasmapheresis
- Operate and monitor automated plasmapheresis machines
- Prepare and store plasma product and samples
Physical Requirements
- Utilize PPE
- Sit or stand for extended periods
- Tug, lift, and pull up to 35 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, or kneel
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens
- View video display terminals
- Work in cold environments
- Perform precise tasks
- Use assistive devices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Three (3) months’ experience in clerical or customer service position preferred
- Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English required
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred (location specific)
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions, and manuals
- Ability to understand verbal instruction
- Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis
- Attendance and punctuality required
