ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in scheduled donation events and assist with collection, sorting, and packing of donated goods.
  • Drive to predetermined pickup locations across Kauai as scheduled, ensuring safe vehicle operations at all times.
  • Inspect donations to determine if items are sellable, sort them by type, and discard unsellable items appropriately.
  • Load and unload materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies.
  • Safely operate lift-gates during loading and unloading procedures.
  • Cookout with other crew members to organize and secure loads for safe transit.
  • Prepare donation receipts for house pickups and miscellaneous deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain accurate truck logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Observe all vehicle operation policies and report any emergencies to supervisors immediately.
  • Operate forklifts and other vehicles when certified.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including sorting and storing donations, metals, furniture, and bins.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service during pickups or public interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a traffic abstract that meets company guidelines and be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to: stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
