ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in scheduled donation events and assist with collection, sorting, and packing of donated goods.
- Drive to predetermined pickup locations across Kauai as scheduled, ensuring safe vehicle operations at all times.
- Inspect donations to determine if items are sellable, sort them by type, and discard unsellable items appropriately.
- Load and unload materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies.
- Safely operate lift-gates during loading and unloading procedures.
- Cookout with other crew members to organize and secure loads for safe transit.
- Prepare donation receipts for house pickups and miscellaneous deliveries as needed.
- Maintain accurate truck logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Observe all vehicle operation policies and report any emergencies to supervisors immediately.
- Operate forklifts and other vehicles when certified.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, including sorting and storing donations, metals, furniture, and bins.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide courteous and professional customer service during pickups or public interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a traffic abstract that meets company guidelines and be at least 21 years of age.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to: stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
