Donation Door Attendant

About the role

The Production Associate at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is responsible for promoting and supporting the mission of the organization guided by Catholic Social Teachings. Duties include assisting with the production and handling of donations, moving merchandise from the donation bay to the sales floor, and ensuring compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet all donors upon arrival and offer donation receipts
• Absorb parish bin donations and deliver furniture using the TurnStyles truck
• Process donations according to policy and procedure
• Ensure compliance with Catholic Charities and TurnStyles policies
• Price, place receipt dates, and assist with furniture, appliance, and electronics pricing
• Follow Employee Handbook and TurnStyles policies and procedures
• Assist all TurnStyles Management Staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities
• Willingness to uphold the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, and joy
• Completion of VIRTUS training, background screening, and drug testing
• High school education preferred, one year of retail, non-profit, or hospitality experience preferred
• Ability to process information and merchandise through a computer system
• Excellent communication skills, especially with employees, volunteers, donors, and customers
• Availability to work varied hours/days to assist with store operations

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift, move, and handle merchandise (sometimes over 50 pounds)
• Stand and/or walk for long periods of time (up to 9 hours at a time)
• Must have the ability to bend, squat, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Visual functions including near and distance vision and depth perception
• Work in a warehouse area with temperature changes, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, and vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and/or gases
