About the Role

Join a unique and compassionate residential facility dedicated to providing personalized, respectful care for residents in a serene, home-like environment. As our Director of Nursing (DON), you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, maintaining quality care standards, and supporting a close-knit team committed to dignity and tradition. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead with heart and make an impact in a facility where faith and community are at the core.

We are hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) for a small, private long-term care residence with a highly stable environment, strong staff longevity, and a truly home-like model of care. This is an ideal opportunity for a DON/ADON-level leader who values relationship-based nursing, calm operations, and thoughtful, people-first leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate clinical staff and operations in a low-acuity, non-Medicare facility serving long-term residents.
  • Ensure seamless daily functioning, including medication administration, documentation, and resident care routines that honor religious practices.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, pharmacy, and therapy providers to coordinate services efficiently.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and HR processes, including interviewing and hiring nursing and caregiving team members.
  • Uphold quality assurance practices through daily oversight and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support a warm, home-like environment that prioritizes resident privacy, dignity, and religious customs.
  • Serve as an accessible, steady presence for staff, residents, and families/guardians.

Requirements

  • Active RN license (required).
  • 2+ years of nursing leadership experience (supervisory/manager/ADON/DON).
  • Long-term care leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership style that is flexible, patient, and steady—someone who builds trust and improves systems without abrupt changes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage operations effectively in a small, private setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (preferably ECP).
  • Knowledge of non-Medicare, long-term care practices and compliance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in faith-based or non-profit healthcare settings.
  • Skills in developing policies and procedures for quality assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and support staff remotely if necessary.

Benefits

  • Stable, low-drama environment with a strong sense of mission and community.
  • Support with scheduling and day-to-day coordination.
  • Reasonable, structured schedule (day shift, 8-hour days).
  • Leadership opportunity suited for someone prioritizing work-life balance and meaningful impact.
