DON Director of Nursing

About the role

Join our team at Windsor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a Long Term Care facility located in Windsor, NC. As a Director of Nursing, you will play a crucial role in leading our nursing team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff. You will ensure that the nursing department is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the nursing staff
• Ensures the nursing department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Develops, implements, and updates department policies and procedures
• Provides counseling and disciplinary action to subordinate staff members as needed
• Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect, and promotes a caring environment
• Assures established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
• Assists with new admissions, re-admissions, and transfers of residents to different rooms within the facility
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services

Requirements

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Required: Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Required: DON experience a must
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field
• Preferred: 3 years R.N. experience
