About the role

As an assistant manager, you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including cost controls, inventory, cash management, and customer relations. You must set the example by following all policies and procedures 100% of the time and expect the same from your crew.

• Maintaining store cleanliness and adherence to standards
• Delivering great customer service
• Ensuring attendance and punctuality of team members
• Managing transportation to/from work
• Supporting marketing initiatives and profitability goals

General Duties for All Store Team Members

• Operate all equipment
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage and work areas
• Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions
• Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change
• Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., shaping dough, using a pizza peel)
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
• Navigational skills for reading maps and locating delivery addresses
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain (e.g., multi-story buildings, private homes) while carrying product

Work Conditions

• Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions (e.g., removing trash, deliveries)
• In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas
• Sudden temperature changes when moving between indoor and outdoor tasks
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler)
• Hot surfaces/tools (e.g., oven temperatures up to 500°F or higher)
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum floors
• Walking: Short distances for short durations
• Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table
• Lifting: Cases of ingredients/supplies up to 50 lbs, stacked onto shelves up to 72" high
• Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), trays of dough (12 lbs per tray)
• Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs)
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for maintenance or sign changes
• Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station, front counter, and stocking areas
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally for stocking or cleaning low areas
• Reaching: Continuously in all directions (e.g., oven controls, shelves, ingredients)
• Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for shaping dough, using pizza peel, assembling boxes, and operating equipment

Pay

$17.13 to $22.00 per hour
