About the role

The Domestic Violence Victim Advocate, under the supervision of the Victim Witness Services Director, provides advocacy and crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and other crime.

Responsibilities

  • Victim Advocacy and Support: Advocate for victims of domestic violence and general crime, including accompanying them to court and offering necessary support.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work alongside law enforcement, court staff, and human service organizations to provide comprehensive support.
  • Crisis Intervention and Service Planning: Conduct crisis intervention, evaluate victims’ needs, and create tailored service plans.
  • Community Engagement and Reporting: Educate victims about their rights and the justice process, maintain program data, and participate in community outreach and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Valid driver's license
