Domestic Agent I
Overview
The Domestic Agent I has high visibility, is the primary contact for designated customers, and responsible for the outcome of assigned projects including customer service, tracking, routing, problem resolution, vendor compliance and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Essential: Quoting, tracking and tracing domestic freight shipments moving via air/ground on a daily basis.
- Essential: Track overhead shipments daily and route accordingly.
- Essential: Route freight shipments across multiple transportation modes and services based upon client requests.
- Essential: Proactively communicate with clients regarding status of freight.
- Essential: Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing and rates.
- Essential: Assist local sales and domestic offices with air/ground freight issues.
- Essential: Manage daily on-time and defect codes, carrier re-weights and insure all masters rated.
- Essential: Compile customer specific key performance indicator (KPI) reports on a weekly/monthly basis as needed.
- Essential: Ensure paperwork, labeling and scanning for accuracy.
- Essential: Understand the requirements/expectations of handling shipments of consequence – NFO, high-value, date/time specific, etc.
- Non-Essential: Responsible for processing monthly inventory.
- Non-Essential: Responsible for other duties and responsibilities as the business deems necessary.

Other Skills
- We Hope to See: High school diploma or equivalent
- We Hope to See: 0-3 Years Freight Forwarding experience required, 3 -5 years preferred
- We Hope to See: Basic math & geography skills
- We Hope to See: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret verbal and written requests/directions, including documents such as tariffs, safety rules, operating infrastructures, and procedure manuals
- We Hope to See: Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of people; can effectively present information in one-on-one settings
- We Hope to See: Ability to analyze numerical data and understand components, relationships, find patterns and draw conclusions
- We Hope to See: SAP, AS400 experience is preferred
- We Hope to See: Basic to intermediate experience using MS Office
- We Hope to See: Basic knowledge or ability to learn regulations and compliance procedures associated with all areas of freight forwarding, domestic forwarding ground carriers, commercial airlines, and cartage
- We Hope to See: Basic knowledge of IATA and TSA regulations
- We Hope to See: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements
- We Hope to See: Time management is extremely important to meet customer deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
