Our Leader of the pack supervises our canine guests in an action-packed, fast-paced play environment, focusing on each dog’s personality, fun, and group safety. Responsibilities

  • Actively oversees dog pack in social play environment as the functional pack leader.
  • Observes behavior and manages safety for all dogs.
  • Creates play groups based on dog personalities and play styles.
  • Sets up and closes yard based on resort policies (sanitize, clean, scoop, breakdown pools, etc.).
  • Actively encourages beneficial interaction between pets and continually monitors pet activity, including playing with guests.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all items at the end of the day and/or during the day.
  • Supports the philosophy of Best Friends Pet Care while collaborating constructively with a team.
  • Treats clients, guests, and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all clients/guests encountered.
  • Reports items in low supply to management.
  • Follows all safe handling and day camp procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-year dog handling experience.

Physical Demands

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on feet for a full shift.
  • Must be able to stand and walk frequently.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat.
  • Must be able to follow specific instructions and multitask.
  • Must be able to work on a computer system and complete written reports.
  • Must be able to handle dogs of all sizes on leashes.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with time deadlines for completion.
  • Must be able to perform all tasks unsupervised as well as with team members.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.

Personal Attributes

  • Must possess a love of animals.
  • Must be comfortable with animals jumping on you.
  • Must be comfortable working around pet dander, bodily fluids, and pet hair.
  • Displays a professional manner at all times.
  • Must have dominant dog behavior skills.
  • Must be willing to learn and open to corrective criticism.

Schedule

We ask that you are available for day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
