Dog Walker Part time

About the role

As a dog walker for Laughing Pets, you'll spend your workday strolling through neighborhoods in Buckhead, Midtown, West Midtown, and Morningside, bringing joy to pets and their families. We are a professional pet care team that has been serving Atlanta since 2010. Hours are based on your schedule—the more you work, the more you earn.

This position is specifically Monday through Friday (you are not required to be available each weekday). Additional shifts on nights and weekends are available.

Responsibilities

• Drive between client homes in our service area, following directions from our scheduling app while working independently.
• Provide dog walks, including safe exercise, enrichment, and companionship.
• Occasional cat care, including feeding, scooping litter, play, and potentially dispensing medication.
• Communicate with your supervisor for any questions or support.
• Ensure pets are happy, healthy, and safe during every visit.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Active, outdoor, and physically demanding role requiring walking at a brisk pace and maintaining good balance.
• Good hand dexterity for handling leashes, gates, and pet supplies.
• Strength to walk up to 2 large dogs and manage dogs that pull on leash.

Transportation

• Must own a reliable, insured vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
• Public transportation or car services are not acceptable.

Technology

• Must have a smartphone with GPS, plenty of data, and a functioning camera.

Skills and Attributes

• Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.
• Professional, dependable, honest, and enthusiastic.
• Energetic with a positive attitude and genuine interest in learning about animals and animal handling.

Pay

• Competitive salary: $18–$20 per hour.
• 100% of tips are yours to keep.
• Holiday pay: Time-and-a-half for multiple days throughout the holidays.
• Mileage reimbursement provided.
• Bi-weekly pay through direct deposit.
