DOE Health Technician - Kalani High School

Under minimal supervision, the Hawaii Keiki (HK) Health Technician is responsible for coordinated school health tasks including coordinating school-wide screenings with community partners, health and wellness promotion, data collection and disease surveillance, coverage of the health needs of students, data entry, and health education as requested. Will facilitate virtual and/or in-person visits with a HK Nurse Practitioner (APRN). May cover school health rooms following Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) protocol as requested and approved by HK supervisor and school administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate school-wide health screenings with community partners
• Promote health and wellness initiatives
• Collect data and perform disease surveillance
• Address the health needs of students
• Perform data entry and provide health education as requested
• Facilitate virtual and/or in-person visits with a HK Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
• Cover school health rooms following Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) protocol as requested and approved

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in a health-related field or equivalent job-related work experience
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or current BLS Certification
• Experience working in a clinical setting

Schedule

• 32.5 hours per week
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–2:30 PM
• Paid leave during spring, fall, and winter breaks according to the school calendar
• Not scheduled to work during the summer break

Pay

$22.25 per hour
