Document Specialist (Field Based)
ERM is hiring Document Specialists in Richmond, VA, Raleigh, and Charlotte, NC to support electric transmission and distribution project efforts. This is a full-time (40 hours a week) limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, extendable.
About the role
The document specialist manages, organizes, updates, and secures an organization’s physical and digital files. They ensure all records remain accurate, properly formatted, easily retrievable, and compliant with legal or company retention policies.
Responsibilities
- Sort, label, categorize, and archive digital and paper files.
- Proofread and check documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper formatting.
- Track revisions and make sure staff use only current, up-to-date document versions.
- Quickly find and supply requested files to internal teams or external auditors.
- Follow strict privacy laws and company retention schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School Diploma required.
- A minimum of 1 year of document control experience.
- Handle large volumes of information systematically.
- Use electronic document management systems (EDMS), cloud storage, and Microsoft Office.
- Work well with different departments to streamline workflows.
Pay
For the Document Specialist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $68,640 – $84,577 ($33.00/hr – $40.66/hr USD), limited-term, non-exempt. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed-term/Flexforce employees are not bonus eligible).

Benefits eligibility is limited to regular employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Fixed-term employees (including Flexforce) who are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours a week or more are eligible for a limited benefits package. Casual employees are not benefits eligible.
