U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This is a full-time, 1st shift role based in Newport News, Virginia. Relocation assistance is not available, and telework is not eligible.
About the Role
Performs operational duties in support of regulatory and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance documentation, including coordinating the verification, approval, and processing of document revisions, and tracking document activity to ensure timeliness and process efficiency. Supports certification and documentation by coordinating the verification, approval, and processing of document reviews, and tracking document activity to ensure timeliness for the status of ship systems and construction schedules.
- Maintains controlled technical documentation systems and record retention.
- Ensures procedures are in place to verify and maintain records.
- Interprets and enforces documentation standards, policies, and operating procedure requirements.
- Reviews documentation, reports, and specifications to ensure they meet requirements.
- Ensures all documentation is present prior to certification, notifies appropriate departments or customers of any issues, and resolves inconsistencies before testing.
- Reviews and certifies technical work documents (e.g., Work Packages, Work Permits, Pipe Weld Records) for accuracy to ensure testing meets certification requirements.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2 years of additional education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of the shipbuilding construction process, including outfitting, structural work, work packages, NDT, piping, record certification, and records retention/storage.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and patience to provide excellent customer support.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings and work packages.
- Highly motivated, energetic, and positive attitude.
- Ability to follow through with assigned tasks promptly.
- Open to new ideas and concepts to improve processes.
- Able to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to work well with others and adapt to changing work schedules.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $42,000.00 to $52,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
