About the role

The School of Psychology and Humanities at the University of Lancashire are seeking to appoint a Doctoral Teaching Associate in Psychology for a five-year fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching and assessment on undergraduate programmes in psychology.
  • Gain practical teaching skills and experience under the guidance of senior academics.
  • Develop teaching, learning, and research skills with appropriate training provided.

Requirements

You should have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related subject, a Masters degree in a relevant subject is desirable.

  • Proven practical and theoretical skills.
  • Experience of Psychology activities.
  • A flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as an individual and as a member of the Psychology team.
  • An ability to use IT and relevant software packages in the support of teaching and learning.

Qualifications

You should submit a 500-word outline of the PhD project you would like to pursue, along with your application form. The outline should identify the research question, explain the theoretical and/or applied significance of the topic, indicate the proposed methodological approach, and demonstrate that the project is feasible within the DTA structure.

Skills

Applicants should explain how the project aligns with existing expertise, facilities, and research programmes within the School, and should identify a potential supervisor or supervisory team. Proposals with clear potential to generate high-quality research outputs, external engagement, impact, and/or contribution to the School’s research environment are particularly welcome.

Benefits

The post-holder will receive a salary of £35,608 to £41,064 per annum pro rata.

Schedule

The position is part-time.
