Job Description

The doctoral students will be part of Formas’ funded projects that investigate:

  • How migration changes the Swedish countryside and thereby the conditions for sustainability and social justice.
  • How to achieve climate change in places where forest conflicts are complex.
  • Complex processes around land use and rural and resource management, identities and future paths to sustainability through ethnographic research, historical studies and collaborative groups and discussions on site.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a relevant academic background, such as a Master’s degree in Social Science, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field. Experience with qualitative research methods and a strong interest in rural development, migration, and environmental issues are essential.

Benefits

Doctoral students will receive a salary according to the Swedish National System of Salaries for Public Employees (Saco-A). Additionally, they will have access to various research facilities and support services provided by the university.

Pay

The salary for the position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The starting date is 1 May 2022. Doctoral students are expected to spend a total of at least 8 months in the field.
