Dockworker

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspecting the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Loading and unloading materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
• Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies to management.
• Ensuring that the forklift is always operated in a safe and responsible manner.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Reporting any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
• Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
• A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures
• Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to speak or hear
• Frequent standing on feet
• Regularly required to lift and move up to 50lbs
• Occasionally need to lift up to 65lbs
• Must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and whole body
• Bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
