About the Role
Ogletree Deakins is seeking an experienced Docketing Specialist to join our Client Information Risk Services department. This remote position involves reviewing electronic mail and filings for accuracy, communicating with attorneys and staff, and managing docketing system tasks. The successful candidate must reside in a state where the firm has a physical office.
Responsibilities
- Review records and enter schedules or deadlines into the docketing system.
- Generate and proof routine and specialized docketing system reports, and distribute them according to the department schedule.
- Review state, federal, and judges’ rules, preferences, and standards for date calculations and share this information with team members.
- Identify and resolve conflicting data prior to entry.
- Ensure retention of source documents and docket confirmations in the Document Management System.
- Stay updated on developments, procedures, and rules in relevant forums.
- Conduct detailed research into calendaring, jurisdictional rules, and regulations within docketing software.
- Perform date calculations applying jurisdictional rules.
- Participate in or manage assigned projects or tasks for local, regional, or firm-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in litigation.
- Familiarity with federal and state agencies.
- Experience with CourtAlert or other docketing systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Document Management Systems (DMS).
- Familiarity with PACER and Electronic Court Filings (ECFs).

- Excellent research, analytical, and reasoning skills, with a demonstrated understanding of data interrelationships.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments in an environment with shifting deadlines.
- Strong initiative, independent judgment, and ownership of projects.
- Reliable, dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service orientation and proactive work ethic.
Pay
The pay range for this remote position varies by location as follows:
- California: $67,272 – $102,159
- Colorado: $71,604 – $92,664
- Connecticut: $71,604 – $97,126
- Illinois: $75,052 – $97,126
- Jersey City, New Jersey: $78,941 – $102,159
- Nevada: $65,239 – $84,427
- Maryland: $67,272 – $87,058
- Massachusetts: $78,941 – $102,159
- Minnesota: $67,272 – $87,058
- New Jersey: $78,941 – $102,159
- New York City, New York: $78,941 – $102,159
- New York State: $65,239 – $102,159
- Ohio: $65,239 – $84,427
- Rhode Island: $65,239 – $84,427
- Washington, D.C.: $75,052 – $97,126
- Washington (State): $75,052 – $97,126
Actual compensation is contingent on relevant experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
