About the role
The Litigation Docketing Specialist provides docketing coverage for nationally located offices in a timely and accurate manner. They also serve as backup coverage for other docketing specialists.
Responsibilities
- Maintain office specific inboxes for incoming docketing entries and coordinate with senders as necessary.
- Review litigation and business filings to identify deadlines.
- Enter and update docket entries.
- Generate various docket reports.
- Tackle and resolve docket-related issues and concerns.
- Provide information and technical support to attorneys, legal staff, and administrative staff regarding the docketing process.
- Occasionally assist the Litigation Docketing Supervisor with their workload.
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Effective teamwork and attention to detail.
- Professional interaction with all levels of firm personnel.
- Ability to handle stress and manage time efficiently.
- Typing speed of 55 words per minute and strong communication skills.
- Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and knowledge of the firm's form and style.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
- Experience with litigation and business court filings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Between 2 and 4 years of docketing or relevant legal support or database experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in a law firm preferred.
Skills
- Experience with docketing software such as CompuLaw and CourtAlert.
- Proficiencies in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
