Essential Functions
- Maintain coordination of the docketing process, including monitoring office-specific inboxes for docketing entries and coordinating with senders as needed.
- Review litigation and business filings to determine deadlines.
- Enter and update docket entries.
- Generate various docket reports.
- Tackle and resolve docket-related concerns and issues.
- Provide ongoing information and technical support to attorneys, legal staff, and administrative staff regarding the docketing process.
- Offer backup assistance to the Litigation Docketing Supervisor as required.
Specific Skills Required
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of firm personnel with professionalism.
- Handle stress and manage time efficiently.
- Type at a speed of 55 words per minute and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Show strong command of the English language, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Be proficient in using standard MS Office applications.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of litigation and business court filings.
Specific Skills Preferred
- Experience with docketing software such as CompuLaw and CourtAlert.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education And Experience
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Between 2 and 4 years of docketing or relevant legal support or database experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in a law firm is preferred.
