Dock Worker/Forklift Operator - Full-Time

About the Role

The Dockworker is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight, supporting warehouse and material handling operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual techniques to move freight
• Secure freight using straps, airbags, and other tools to prevent damage
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms such as manifests and freight bills
• Monitor shipment locations using Yard Management System
• Ensure trailers are loaded properly and meet quality standards
• Maintain safety protocols and proper handling procedures
• Communicate regularly with team members in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of freight transportation procedures
• Experience with loading techniques
• Ability to operate forklifts and handle freight weighing up to 500 lbs.
• Familiarity with freight forms and yard management systems
• Strong work ethic, safety-conscious, team-oriented, and adaptable to various work environments

Physical & Work Environment

• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and handle objects up to 100 lbs.
• Perform frequent bending, reaching, and climbing
• Work in diverse conditions including extreme temperatures and noisy settings
• Work flexible shifts as needed
