Dock Worker
About the role
A Dock Worker at Pacific Seafood plays a key role on our production team supporting efforts to receive inventory and uphold high-quality standards. This position involves unloading products from vessels in a safe and timely manner, utilizing the appropriate equipment and proper handling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate all dock equipment efficiently. Equipment includes but is not limited to forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, deuce-and-a-half beach trucks, and cranes.
- Learn all product species, sub-types, and specs on sorting and handling of all products received at the dock.
- Ensure all products received, processed, or shipped meet Pacific Seafood quality expectations.
- Notify supervisor when there are inconsistencies.
- Communicate with leads, supervisors, and other team members regarding supply material levels.
- Keep all work areas clean and organized at all times.
- Learn and apply all SSOP for all job requirements.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience with crane, hoist, and forklift operation (equipment operation including but not limited to forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, deuce-and-a-half beach trucks, and cranes).
- Knowledge of basic knots and line splicing.
- Previous experience in the seafood industry.
- Valid drivers license.
- Effective communication skills.
