Dock Worker - 1st Shift - Ellenwood

About the role

Carefully move packages and material around our facilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely sort mixed and floor freight, creating accurate loads for outbound trailers while keeping a good count of the goods and paying attention to detail.
• Perform required administrative tasks for inbound unloading and outbound loading.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities.
• Secure freight for transit.
• Operate air compressor for airbag usage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Ability to read, comprehend company’s paperwork and training material.
• Ability to read and write English proficiently.

Working Conditions

• Continually required to stand.
• Continually required to walk.
• Occasionally required to lift/push/carry more than 50 pounds.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather).
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Continually exposed to loud noise.

Schedule

First shift: 5:00 am – 2:00 pm or until completion, Monday through Friday.

Must be able to execute all the above functions and meet all demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.
