Dock Load Specialist, Huron
About the role
This position works under direct supervision while performing a variety of shipping, receiving, and material control tasks. This will include handling purchasing rejects, ensuring suppliers have up to date prints, keying transfers, and material handling. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to and promote The Terex Way Values
- Receive and check in of raw materials, purchased stock, finished items, equipment, supplies and returned goods
- Check in received goods to purchase orders of receiving slips as to identification, type, part number, dimension, size, quantity, and general quality
- Visually inspect goods received for damage from handling and transit, and process damage report
- Access computer terminals and process all transactions required for the receiving function
- Prepare reports to appraise purchasing and manufacturing of goods received relative to identification, type, size, quantity, quality, and dispatch or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing areas
- Operate forklift within Terex Utilities forklift policy
- Work under general supervision; reports are subject to verification; instructions and guidance given on new or unusual procedures
- Maintain clean work area and participate in 5s standards
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in material inventory
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and interpret blur prints
- Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
- Computer skills, equipment operation, tool operation, judgment, interpersonal skills, math, reading and writing
Physical Requirements
- Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy.
- Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work.
- Medium to heavy work is defined as: 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling and lifting 40 to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance of machinery or others to move objects.
- Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift.
