About the Role
The Dock Lead is responsible for supervising dock workers and route drivers at the dock location.
Responsibilities
- Supervise route drivers and run routes out of the dock or plant as needed.
- Notify drivers of special instructions.
- Check customer route tickets weekly to ensure proper service.
- Handle customer complaints until the Customer Service Representative can make contact.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of the dock, equipment, and grounds, ensuring they are clear of damaged containers.
- Operate and maintain assigned company vehicles, reporting any mechanical or operational issues to the vehicle supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a DOT log book as required.
- Provide quality customer service by being professional and courteous at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old with two or more years of driving experience.
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Good working knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated proficiency working on computers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory and route driver experience.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Team player with the ability to work well with others.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to multi-task.
- Good math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Frequently required to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a company vehicle, plant/dock location, and on outside property.
