Dock Lead - CDL

About the Role

The Dock Lead is responsible for supervising dock workers and route drivers at the dock location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise route drivers and run routes out of the dock or plant as needed.
• Notify drivers of special instructions.
• Check customer route tickets weekly to ensure proper service.
• Handle customer complaints until the Customer Service Representative can make contact.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of the dock, equipment, and grounds, ensuring they are clear of damaged containers.
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicles, reporting any mechanical or operational issues to the vehicle supervisor immediately.
• Maintain a DOT log book as required.
• Provide quality customer service by being professional and courteous at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with two or more years of driving experience.
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Good working knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
• Demonstrated proficiency working on computers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory and route driver experience.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Team player with the ability to work well with others.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to multi-task.
• Good math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently required to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a company vehicle, plant/dock location, and on outside property.
