Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing loading dock and doors
• Performing all assigned preventative maintenance on customer equipment
• Recommending service as needed
• Proper processing of paperwork at the completion of each job
• Maintaining a company-owned service van and parts inventory
• Identifying general problems based on customer concerns and testing to locate failures
• Completing repairs in the safest and most efficient manner and testing equipment to ensure proper function
• Driving to and from customer sites, parts pickups, and other locations to address on-site needs
• Making necessary repairs (with customer approval) and performing basic maintenance as needed
• Documenting all parts, time, and repairs itemized at job completion
• Following all safety procedures and company policies
• Identifying and ordering necessary replacement parts

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate preferred
• Must be a certified welder or able to obtain certification within the first 30 days of being hired
• Successful completion of the welder apprentice level or three years welding experience
• Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions written in the locally applicable language(s)
• Ability to perform duties at elevated heights
• Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill level
• Basic Computer/Tablet knowledge (Microsoft and Apple operating systems)
• Valid driver license and clean driving record must be maintained throughout employment
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine correspondence
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and perform operations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to understand weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, pull and/or otherwise move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must operate equipment in a safe manner.

Work Environment

Depending on site location, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
