Dock Attendant (WAR/Part-Time)
Assist with the daily operations of the Riverwalk Landing Docks. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Incumbent is expected to work flexible hours and is subject to being called in for work at varied hours and days, to include weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Work with security and maintenance of the dock facilities including the office, docks, landscaping, refuse collection and/or disposal, and equipment associated with the operation of the docks.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform maintenance of the dock’s adjacent grounds.
- Make minor repairs to equipment and facilities, notify Dockmaster for other repairs.
- Interact with the public and others to obtain and provide information and assistance in a variety of circumstances; respond to inquiries and complaints; provide information on policy and procedures.
- Assist with maintenance, and updates of records of revenue; collect slip rent (dockage), utility fees associated with docks; maintain office supplies and ensure payments of expenses.
- Read and maintain manufacturers' safety data sheets (SDS).
- Transport equipment, furniture and supplies, and assist with the set-up and take down of various events as needed.
Requirements
Requires any equivalent combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and 1- 2 years of closely related experience. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must possess a valid Virginia Boaters safety license, or ability to complete in first two weeks of employment.
Qualifications

Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must possess a valid Virginia Boaters safety license, or ability to complete in first two weeks of employment.

Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Work often involves heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) of furniture, and carrying of materials, bending, stooping, standing, and walking while performing moving and set-up activities or supply deliveries.
