Description

Queens Community House is recruiting volunteers for their Friendly Visiting program, which pairs home-bound older adults with volunteers for weekly visiting to reduce isolation and loneliness.

Responsibilities

• Discuss shared interests with an older adult
• Learn/teach new skills together
• Read books, learn technology, and celebrate special holidays

Requirements

• Speak Romanian
• Willingness to visit an older adult in person weekly for an hour
• Interest in classic movies, classical music, and classic literature
• Ability to engage in meaningful conversations and friendships
