Position Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused DME Specialist to provide excellent patient care and support in the clinical setting. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Making and applying durable medical equipment (DME) to patients as directed by providers, ensuring proper fit.
  • Educating patients and caregivers on equipment use and care instructions.
  • Resolving patient concerns related to equipment use.
  • Conducting pre-authorizations/pre-certifications, and referrals when applicable.
  • Ensuring all documentation guidelines are met as required by each insurance carrier.
  • Informing patients of their potential financial responsibility for the equipment.
  • Ordering products.
  • Maintaining functional inventory.
  • Assisting clinical and casting staff with direct and indirect patient care activities.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous DME, medical assisting, or other related healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and collaborate with medical professionals.
  • The ability to travel to various ORA clinic locations as scheduled.

Pay

The pay range displayed for this position represents the pay range for all positions that are classified in this job grade. Individual pay will depend on a wide range of factors such as candidate skills, experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and alignment with company benchmarks.
