Responsibilities
- Process claims for Durable Medical Equipment services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Follow up on denied or delayed claims, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
- Stay updated on insurance policies, billing regulations, and coding practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in DME.
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10).
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and claims processing.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is a plus.
