DLO Group Lead MLS/MLT

About the role

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is located in Owasso, OK. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3pm.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
• Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
• Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and serology
• Absorb and distribute work assignments
• Train employees in laboratory techniques
• Resolve work-related problems of staff
• Provide input for performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
• Investigate and resolve analytical testing problems
• Respond to non-routine/complex inquiries and/or requests from clients and sales representatives
• Expedites the flow of work to maximize productive capacity
• Evaluate production systems and recommend enhancements
• Review QA and QC records when applicable
• Assist with the department's annual competency testing process and documentation
• Interact in a professional manner with inter-departmental teams and groups

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard laboratory processes and procedures
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Good understanding of laboratory quality assurance standards
• Good computer skills
• Ability to lead and coach staff to maintain optimal customer service levels
• MT or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
• 5 years’ experience in a hospital setting
• Previous experience in a leadership role preferred
• Some phlebotomy tasks will be required
• Holiday and some weekend rotation required
• Overtime may be required as staffing levels dictate
• Willingness to work outside of normal hours to maintain service levels to hospital
