DLO Blood Bank MLS/MLT I

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Hours: Monday‑Friday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays

Essential Functions

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift.
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday.
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Blood Bank theory and processes carried out in a busy Transfusion Service Department; ability to use various computer systems.
• Required Experience: 3‑5 years Blood Bank/Transfusion Service experience performing routine and complex testing within a hospital setting (preferred).
• Special Requirements: Ability to maintain a professional attitude under heavy workload and stressful situations; perform testing, QC/QA duties, and other Blood Bank responsibilities under such conditions; show up on time and prepared each workday; perform all tasks assigned by immediate supervisor, including those you may be overqualified to perform; work as a collaborative team member with a supportive disposition.
• Weekends required.
• Holiday rotations required.
• Willingness to work overtime or other shifts if required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Frequent lifting and carrying of objects 1–10 lb; occasional lifting of 11–25 lb; seldom lifting of 36–50 lb; objects over 50 lb not to be lifted without assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods.
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• Use of a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments requiring significant manual dexterity.

Licenses and Certifications

• MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) required.
