About the Role

Join The Pasha Group as Divisional Controller, where you will lead accounting operations for designated business units, provide critical financial insight to senior leadership, and ensure the timely delivery of accurate financial reporting. This highly visible leadership role oversees accounting managers and staff, manages the month-end close process, ensures compliance with accounting policies and controls, and partners with operational leaders to support sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Reporting, Analysis & Accounting Operations
    • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial statements for designated entities, divisions, and lines of business.
    • Deliver financial and operational reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
    • Oversee the monthly closing process, including journal entry preparation, review, and reconciliation activities.
    • Evaluate budgets, standard costs, operational flash reports, and actual performance to identify trends and variances.
    • Prepare special analyses and reporting that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Strengthen Financial Controls, Compliance & Process Excellence
    • Provide oversight of accounting processes and internal controls that support accurate and compliant financial reporting.
    • Apply and uphold established accounting standards, financial policies, and company procedures.
    • Ensure appropriate documentation and supporting records are maintained for all accounting transactions.
    • Coordinate audit preparation activities and provide required information to external auditors.
    • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Partner Across Finance & Operations
    • Serve as a trusted financial resource for operational and departmental managers, helping resolve accounting-related questions and issues.
    • Partner with business unit management to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    • Work closely with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Center of Excellence teams to support accounting requirements across business units.
    • Participate in accounting software implementations, system upgrades, interface development, and conversion projects.
    • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure consistency, collaboration, and excellence across accounting and reporting activities.
  • Lead, Develop & Empower Accounting Talent
    • Manage accounting managers, General Ledger staff, and other assigned personnel.
    • Provide training, guidance, and professional development opportunities that strengthen team capability.
    • Communicate priorities, policies, procedures, and performance standards effectively.
    • Encourage strong working relationships across Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams.
    • Ensure high standards of performance, accuracy, and service throughout the accounting function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of coursework and directly related experience.
  • CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Experience working with accounting software platforms and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting controls, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Experience preparing complex financial analyses and worksheets.
  • Ability to support accounting operations across multiple companies or business entities.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and communicating accounting policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Pay

Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time. The salary range for this role in San Rafael, CA is $190,000 - $205,000. For applicants from other zones, the salary range may vary to align with the cost of labor and market conditions.

This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment. Annual Incentive Opportunity: 20% of eligible compensation.

Schedule

This role operates in a corporate office environment and requires regular use of computer systems, financial applications, communication tools, and standard office equipment.

Travel: 10% (must be able to travel independently to U.S. locations including Hawaii).
