Division Security Officer

About the role

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), El Paso Division. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Division Security Officer (DSO) for the El Paso Division. You will direct the lifecycle of the division's security program, overseeing its development, planning, execution, and management.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the technical expert that administers and maintains continuing responsibility and management of the Personnel Security Program by implementing DEA and local policies and procedures.
• Serving as the liaison for security related matters with other federal agencies or organizations (e.g., GSA, DHS, DoS, etc.).
• Processing requests for clearance/access, changes to position sensitivity designation, and investigations.
• Planning, developing, coordinating and implementing appropriate physical security/crime prevention programs and policies for the Division.
• Serving as the subject matter expert, responsible for the information security, COMSEC requirements, and compliance of all Division offices.
• Conducting physical security inspections of facilities.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license while employed in the position and will be required to operate the motor vehicle in accordance with applicable OPM regulations and related requirements of DOJ/DEA.

• Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet the following requirements:
  • Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-11 grade level.
• Applicants applying for the GS-13 must meet the following requirements:
  • Have At Least One Full Year Of Qualifying Specialized Experience That Is At Least Equivalent In Difficulty And Complexity To Work Performed At The GS-12 Grade Level
