Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Manages and mentors a team of construction professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Manages continuous improvement initiatives within the division, exploring and implementing innovative construction methods, technologies, and best practices to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Business Management
    • Maintains division and project performance, managing profit and loss based on corporate strategies and monitoring the division’s projects' financial statuses.
    • Develops division budgets and manages the budget process based on the agreed-upon annual baseline budget planning requirements.
    • Reviews sales and gross margins quarterly through a narrative to owners that would include overall actual and projected gross margins, gross margin changes from past quarters, actual and projected cash flows, and update Division annual overhead budget.
    • Reviews project close-outs monthly, approves project management’s monthly project profit projections, and provides regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Project Management
    • Directs and oversees the planning, development, and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and regulations.
    • Ensures proper project planning occurs on all division projects, including developing and monitoring project budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
    • Responsible for financial forecasting, tracking expenses, and reporting to senior management.
  • Operations
    • Participates in project meetings, working with the Field Superintendents and other DMs to manage division man-hour productivity and overall manpower requirements to maximize manpower utilization.
    • Assesses the division’s technical, safety, estimating, and staffing needs and initiates appropriate actions as required.
    • Actively participates in the training of all department personnel.
    • Provides performance feedback and annual performance evaluations in coordination with HR.
    • Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Proposals, Marketing and Sales
    • Reviews all division estimates, ensures that all proposals are submitted within company standards, and develops new sales leads.
    • Collaborates with the Business Development Manager and Marketing department as needed.
    • Prepares quarterly and annual sales projections.
    • Promotes customer relations.
    • Reports monthly actual and projected backlog of projects.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of proven leadership experience in electrical or low voltage construction project management.
  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineer, or equivalent experience in the electrical trade, along with in-depth technical knowledge of low voltage construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications and programs including Accubid/McCormick, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and Procore, BuildOps or other project management software programs.

Pay

Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 per year. Opportunity for partnership share.
