Overview
The Optical Fiber & Cable (OFC) Division of Corning is seeking a Division Engineering Process Excellence (PEx) and Strategy Senior Manager to drive engineering performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across a global manufacturing organization.
Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead the development and annual refresh of the Division PEx strategy; establish clear objectives and ensure consistent alignment across all global plants and regional PEx champions
- Drive adoption of standardized continuous improvement tools and methodologies — including DMAIC and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) — across the manufacturing network; coach teams and optimize Green Belt utilization
- Maintain and continuously improve the Division Engineering Portal — ensuring content is current, relevant, and valuable — and facilitate best practice sharing across CoCs and corporate partners
- Own and enhance the Division Engineering onboarding framework, monitoring effectiveness and improving new hire integration and time-to-productivity
- Lead or support division-level projects focused on strategy, systems, tools, and process improvement; drive cross-functional initiatives aligned with evolving business priorities
- Represent the OFC Division on corporate steering teams including the PEx Council, Lean Council, and Manufacturing Excellence & Engineering (MEE) Council
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant science discipline (e.g., Physics, Chemistry)
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, spanning Engineering, Operations, Technology, and/or Supply Chain
- Demonstrated experience leading a Process Excellence (PEx) or Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement program across multiple sites or a global organization
- Green Belt trained (minimum); DMAIC methodology proficiency required
Desired Qualifications
- Green Belt certified or Black Belt trained/certified
- Familiarity with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodologies
- Experience designing or managing engineering onboarding programs or learning and development frameworks
- Familiarity with engineering knowledge portal systems or division-wide content management platforms
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior/executive-level stakeholders

- Translates division-level strategy into actionable PEx programs with measurable outcomes
- Coaches and develops teams in structured problem-solving methodologies with minimal supervision
- Presents complex engineering and operational findings clearly to executive audiences
- Buils and sustains effective cross-functional networks across plants, CoCs, and corporate partners
- Manages multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, global organization
- Applies AI productivity tools to streamline engineering workflows and improve output quality
Work Conditions / Travel / Schedule
- Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; flexibility required to support global operations and time-sensitive deliverables
- Primarily on-site role with up to 1 day per week remote work flexibility
- Travel is infrequent; candidates should be prepared to travel domestically and/or internationally when projects or business meetings require
Pay Range
The range for this position is $174,390.00 - $239,786.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
