Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Division Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for developing maintenance strategies, improving equipment reliability, overseeing capital projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with multi-site manufacturing experience and a proven ability to optimize maintenance programs while supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy

    • Develop and execute division-wide maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance managers and technical teams across multiple facilities.
    • Standardize maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices across all locations.
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance & Operations

  • Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Minimize downtime by ensuring timely resolution of equipment failures.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Improve equipment reliability through proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Budgeting, Capital Projects & Engineering

    • Develop and manage maintenance budgets across multiple facilities.
    • Optimize labor, material, and contractor utilization.
    • Maintain a five-year capital investment plan for facility improvements.
    • Prepare capital expenditure requests and oversee approved projects from planning through completion.
    • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
    • Provide technical guidance for equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental, and company regulations.
    • Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout all facilities.
    • Lead safety audits, inspections, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Utilize CMMS to monitor maintenance performance and asset reliability.
    • Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
    • Drive initiatives that reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and lower maintenance costs.

    Qualifications

    • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of maintenance or engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
    • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple facilities or large-scale manufacturing operations.
    • Technical Skills

    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Boilers, steam, and condensate systems
      • Air compressors and compressed air distribution systems
      • HVAC systems, chillers, and air washers
      • Potable water, process water, and effluent systems
    • Experience with CMMS platforms (iMaint preferred) and data-driven maintenance strategies.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and manufacturing compliance regulations.
    • Higg Index experience is a plus.
    • Leadership Competencies

    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional maintenance teams and partner with manufacturing leadership.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Effective project management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
