Division Chief

About the role

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) seeks a Division Chief to lead operations in Morgan Hill, CA. This position is located in the Northern Region and requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead emergency response and resource management operations
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
• Manage personnel and budget within assigned area
• Develop and implement policies and procedures
• Collaborate with local and state agencies on fire prevention and suppression efforts

Requirements

• Medical Clearance
• Wear respiratory protection equipment (SCBA)
• Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in fire management or related field
• Experience leading teams and managing budgets
• Knowledge of fire suppression techniques and resource management

Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$10,569.00 - $13,674.00 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
