About the role

The Texas State Aquarium provides high-quality, entertaining programming through education, conservation, and wildlife rehabilitation. We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience in a one-of-a-kind setting showcasing the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.

Responsibilities

• Perform underwater exhibit maintenance in accordance with established safety standards and operational procedures.
• Clean and maintain back-of-house areas to support a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Fill scuba cylinders following approved procedures and applicable safety requirements.
• Tend dives and provide surface support to ensure diver safety and effective communication during underwater operations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dive safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of dive-related equipment.

Requirements

• Any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Open Water Dive certification (minimum requirement).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Administering Emergency Oxygen certification.
