About the role
The Bedford Area School District is seeking a District-Wide Autistic/Emotional Support Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with autism and emotional support needs across district schools.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to address behavioral, academic, and social-emotional goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and compliance with IEP requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.
- Participate in professional development and district initiatives focused on special education best practices.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education (Autistic or Emotional Support endorsement preferred).
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working with students with autism and/or emotional support needs in a school setting.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania’s special education regulations and compliance requirements.
