The overall function of the District Sign Specialist 1 is to perform the duties related to the complete installation and maintenance of highway signs throughout the District on all state and federal routes including urban and rural areas.
Job Duties and Other Information
- Perform sign installation, replacement, and maintenance on all State Highways in accordance with the manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- This includes highway signing, construction and road closure signing, barricades, warning and other permanent and temporary signing.
- Have knowledge of Louisiana vehicular laws listed in Revised Statue 32.
- Required to use measuring devices (Tapes, distance measuring instrument, distance-measuring wheels), cameras, copy devices, etc.
Necessary Special Requirements
- Possession of a current Class D Chauffer's License.
