About the role

The District Sales Manager ensures all required tasks for all locations are carried out by employees in their designated zone. They manage and direct a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals, address employee concerns, set target metrics, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and guidance. The role also involves handling escalated customer service issues and performing human resource functions such as screening applicants and hiring new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple retail locations with agents, assistant managers, and managers within a designated geographic zone.
  • Monitors sales goals and procedures for each manager and store based on goals set for each location and the whole zone.
  • Designs and recommends regional sales and marketing promotions and sets short- and long-term retail sales strategies for the zone.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Responsible for hiring and training all retail employees/staff.
  • Delegates tasks to employees during busy periods to keep business running smoothly.
  • Assists in new hire employee transition, including teaching, training, and aiding employees in their general duties.
  • Promotes a positive attitude to ensure excellent customer service skills are utilized during customer interactions.
  • Motivates employees to succeed and improve continuously.
  • Ensures company dress code is adhered to by all employees at all times.
  • Shares job knowledge or experience with agents and coaches employees on proven sales strategies.
  • Delegates and monitors staff for attendance, discipline issues, and performance of job functions; reports incidents to the Zonal Manager or HR Manager before taking disciplinary action.
  • Discusses monthly goals with managers and agents to formulate strategies to accomplish targets.
  • Conducts and leads monthly meetings with subordinates and reporting directors.
  • Tracks and reports all maintenance and security issues.
  • Flexible to travel within and outside their zone for training and cross-audit purposes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • Associate or Bachelor degree (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of customer service/insurance sales experience.
  • Current County Mutual License (required); Property & Casualty License (a plus, will be required to obtain within a designated time-frame upon hire).

Skills

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Basic computer knowledge and strong written, verbal, and people skills.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced written communication skills (spelling, grammar, and punctuation) and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel.
  • Ability to quickly learn company/proprietary software.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
