About the role

The District Sales Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and profitability of an assigned sales district within the Essilor group, including managing a book of business for Top Accounts. This role focuses on achieving district sales goals, mentoring Account Executives, and ensuring customer satisfaction through coordination with lab management and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will live near a major airport within the district and travel up to 50-60%, including overnights.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve district revenue and key products’ sales forecasts.
  • Develop individual and team objectives based on business plans.
  • Understand challenges and opportunities within the district.
  • Manage and grow a book of business for top accounts.
  • Execute a regular call cycle to visit accounts quarterly.
  • Ensure Account Executives (AEs) perform territory and account planning to meet sales goals.
  • Coach, develop, and provide sales support to AEs.
  • Demonstrate high levels of customer service through direct involvement.
  • Monitor market and customer base changes.
  • Represent the district at key customer events to build loyalty.
  • Provide district reports using Salesforce, QLIK, and data analysis.
  • Develop the team through PPR processes, ride-withs, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Provide continuous feedback on AE performance.
  • Assist AEs in building account business plans.
  • Coach AEs on the selling process to achieve district sales goals.
  • Collaborate with lab distribution channels, Brand Specialists, and Sales Activation teams.
  • Communicate, supervise, and implement Essilor Sales and Marketing Plan objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop talent for the AE position.
  • Complete reports and administrative duties accurately and timely.
  • Represent the company in line with core values.
  • Create a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Region Director and/or VP of Sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of successful outside sales experience.
  • Proven leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, contact management systems, and sales analytical tools).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated results in managing sales teams.
  • Optical sales experience.

Pay

Pay range: $116,952.32 – $187,856.72. Employee pay is determined by factors including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. A competitive bonus and/or commission plan may complement the total rewards package.
