District Manager

Job Overview

The District Manager at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned branches, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and controlling branch operations, evaluating performance, assisting with major accounts, managing sales efforts, assessing needs and trends, setting objectives, and ensuring effective communication and training.

Essential Functions

• Evaluates each department's operating results and performance against predetermined objectives.
• Aids department managers with target accounts.
• Directs sales efforts for assigned branches.
• Develops sales strategies with department managers and salesmen.
• Reviews and appraises the results of the activities of the departments; identifies, recommends, and implements corrective action when necessary.
• Ensures appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas.
• Conducts individual performance reviews as required.
• Trains and reviews the performance of Lease and Rental personnel.
• Recommends compensation changes in accordance with Company policy.
• Ensures that the organizational structure of assigned branches is efficiently planned and adequately staffed.
• Approves payables, special billings, special credits, and damage re-bills before sending to customers.
• Works with the Office Specialist on collecting past due accounts.
• Promotes safe work habits and monitors safety performance in the workplace to reduce accident potential.
• Reviews all repair orders exceeding $750.00 prior to posting.
• Identifies improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency and enhance customer service.
• Collaborates with the Quality Assurance Department and Leasing Senior Management to ensure leasing procedures accurately reflect operational needs and are effectively implemented.
• Makes presentations to customers regarding operational areas such as driver trip reports, mileage readings, and out-of-balance fuel taxes.
• Assesses the need for additional services or new leads.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of Leasing operations (preferred).
• Direct truck leasing and/or rental experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership ability and decision-making skills.
