District Long Reach/ Excavator Operator

Description What to expect

The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will operate the excavator and perform daily pre and post inspections of equipment and working areas. Other duties include greasing, shoveling, and safely maintaining work areas.

• Operate excavator within company guidelines and safety standards
• Complete daily pre and post inspections of working areas and ensure they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and report needed repairs to supervisor
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles, and crushers
• Perform daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and all moving parts for proper function
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Operate other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Hours

Hours are 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, including weekends and overtime as necessary.
