Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) or ability to attain
Skills/Abilities
- Basic math, reading and communication skills
- Ability to work as a productive member of a team
- Ability to safely use all necessary kitchen equipment
- Learn and follow all federal, state and local rules/regulations in relation to the School Nutrition Program
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with food preparation, serving, cooking, and baking
- Affords assistance in cleaning the kitchen and serving areas
- Provides excellent customer service to students and staff
- Maintains daily/weekly employee timesheet
- Adheres to all district policies and procedures
- Consults with the Kitchen Manager when questions arise
- Completes additional duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, lift (ranging from 25-60lbs), bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks that may be required from time to time
- Must have the ability to stand for periods as long as 6 hours or more on a cement/tile kitchen floor
- Must have the ability to work in a hot, humid environment
Terms of Employment
- Hourly, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board
Evaluation
- Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Board's policy on evaluation
