About the role
The District Clerk supports the Board of Directors and Executive Director, serving as the Official Custodian of Records and managing all Colorado Open Act (CORA) requests. The role also involves compiling and analyzing data, developing and recommending policies, and managing elections.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Executive Director in carrying out the District's vision, mission, and goals.
- Promotes and fosters an organizational culture based on superior customer service.
- Manages and justifies the District Clerk budget, preparing financial reports and overseeing budget goals.
- Coordinates services and activities with other District areas, local agencies, and community partners.
- Prepares and justifies the District's budget and certifications for adoption, and coordinates the filing of budget documentation.
- Serves as the Designated Election Official, managing all aspects of District elections.
- Ensures compliance with state statute and statutory timelines for CORA requests.
- Trains election judges and assists with certification of results and filing with appropriate agencies.
- Manages the District's strategic plan and tracks progress.
- Schedules meetings and manages the District's calendar.
- Supports the Executive Director in decision-making by providing reports, studies, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible relevant professional experience, including two (2) years with a governmental entity or special District.
- Experience with data research, collection, and analysis techniques, and the preparation of written and oral reports.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Highly motivated and able to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide outstanding customer service and establish effective working relationships.
- Strong proofreading skills, ensuring grammatical accuracy and consistency.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of special districts and Colorado local government operations, as well as special district election requirements and procedures.
- Notary Public certification or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
- A valid Colorado Driver License or the ability to obtain one upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Pay
$72,962 to $91,507 annually based on qualifications, education, and experience.
Schedule
Regular business hours, occasional travel to various work sites and remote locations.
