Distributor Truck Equipment Operator

Safety Protocols

• Follow all safety protocols, DOT requirements, and company policies while operating equipment and driving on public roads

General Duties

• Safely operate an asphalt distributor (tack) truck to spray asphalt emulsions on roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including fluid levels, spray systems, hoses, pumps, burners, and gauges
• Monitor gauges (temperature, pressure, flow) to maintain consistent and accurate asphalt application
• Work closely with paving crews, foremen, and supervisors to maintain project pace and quality standards
• Auxiliary duties may include traffic control, cleanup, and general labor when the distributor truck is not in use

Qualifications

• Must have good communications skills both written and verbal to interact with internal and external drivers and customers
• Must have a current driver’s license in good standing (Class A preferred)
• Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills
• Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals
• Must be capable of functioning under fast-paced stressful working conditions within live traffic
• Prior pavement preservation experience is required
