Distributor Driver/Operator
About the role
Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, the Mountain Companies (Mountain Enterprises, Mountain Materials, and Mountain Aggregates) provide asphalt paving and aggregate services to the state of Kentucky. As a part of the CRH family, we are a leading asphalt producer, aggregates producer, and cement producer in North America.
Primary Function
An Asphalt Distributor Operator performs a variety of tasks, including applying specialized emulsions to roadways and covering them with a chip spreader. They set the pace for the paving operation and report directly to the Paving Foreman.
Position Requirements
- Class A/Class B CDL Required
- Must be a union member (if not already a member)
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to two years related asphalt and road construction experience
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) A or B with N-tanker & X-hazmat endorsement
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to two years related asphalt and road construction experience
- Class A/Class B CDL with N-tanker & X-hazmat endorsement
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical
- Valid I-9 Immigration document
- Professional and courteous attitude
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Current driver’s license meeting state requirements
- Motor Vehicle Record meeting company standards
- At least age 18 years old
- Previous related experience in construction field preferred
