About the role

The Distribution Technician supports hospital operations by managing inventory, organizing storage areas, processing supply requests, and coordinating with departments across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for medical and non-medical supplies through regular stock checks, monitoring expiration dates, and tracking usage trends.
  • Receive, prioritize, and process supply requests from hospital departments.
  • Cook up and distribute supplies to hospital units, clinics, and other designated locations.
  • Rotate inventory to ensure proper product dating and minimize waste due to expired supplies.
  • Aid in tracking and managing equipment, including medical devices, instruments, and reusable supplies.
  • Follow established quality control standards by performing visual inspections, verifying product specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory management, supply distribution, and supply transactions.
  • Help maintain organized storage areas to support efficient inventory management and accessibility.

Requirements

  • No direct patient care responsibilities.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Licenses & Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of warehouse, receiving, inventory, materials management, or supply chain experience required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with medical and non-medical supplies used in a healthcare or hospital environment. Understanding of inventory management practices, supply chain processes, and warehouse operations. Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately handle supplies and maintain records. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and department partners. Basic computer skills and the ability to work with inventory management systems and documentation processes.
